Melting Pot Food Tours

Unique Los Angeles Tours

Melting Pot Food Tours is like the indie film of city tours, this company has a strong cult following and they have been featured in many "off the beaten path" type articles. Melting Pot Food Tours offers four signature tours:

  • Old Pasadena Food Tasting Walking Tour
  • Original Farmers Market Food & History Tour
  • East LA Latin Flavor Tour
  • Pasta Pasta Pasta Tour in Old Pasadena
  • Maritime Long Beach Tour (East Village Long Beach Tour)

Old Pasadena Food Walking Tour

The entire tour takes place throughout Old Pasadena, and guests walk from one location to the next. While it is branded as a food tour, guests are pleasantly surprised to also learn about the city's history and architecture. Guests are lead through Old Pasadena's beautiful alleys and secret thru-ways that exist on land formerly occupied by orange groves.

Restaurants on the Tour

The food tour features Pasadena's independently owned restaurants, many of which are family-run and have been in business for decades. These are the types of restaurants that travelers would not easily find on their own, essentially, it is a tour of hidden gems that can only be found in the alleys rather than the main boulevards. Without giving too much away, here is what to expect:

  • Mexican Tortas Cafe
  • Asian-Fusion Restaurant
  • Artisan Chocolatier
  • Cafes specializing in Middle-Eastern, South American, and Indian cuisines
  • Tea Tasting
  • Gelato Shop that makes really fun and interesting flavors
  • Sampling of gourmet treats in a food co-op

When Are Tours Offered?

Old Pasadena Food Tasting Tour is offered Saturdays and Sundays between 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM.
