Whether it's costumes and candy with the kids and family, or scary and haunted adventures for grown ups, enjoy some of the best ghoulish activities in the Los Angeles metroplex in the lush city of Pasadena.
Barks & Boos at the Aboretum
Fera Pets presents Barks & Boos Howl-o-ween at the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden. Join the fun on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. A pet costume contest will start at 2:30 pm. There will also be a special adoption opportunity, and a dog agility course provided by Pasadena Humane.
Halloween at Kidspace
Halloween at Kidspace Children’s Museum is happening all month long this October. Arrive in costume and join the other fairies, mermaids, pirates and superheroes strutting their stuff in the daily Kidspace Halloween Parades. Take a thrilling trike ride through a spooky house, adopt a monster, and enjoy the magic of Halloween.
Halloween Spooktacular at One Colorado
Join the Halloween Spooktacular at One Colorado for spooky fun! The event kicks off with The Unicorn Store on October 18 where little ones will create ghostly paintings. Spaces are limited, so grab your spot to celebrate the spooky season with family-friendly fun! Then dress up in your creative costumes on Halloween night and trick-or-treat from store-to-store from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. (first-come, first-serve).
Dia De Los Muertos
On October 24, the Pasadena Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department will host a vibrant celebration of the cherished century-old tradition of Dia de Los Muertos, the Day of the Dead. Captivating dance performances, creative arts and crafts, delicious food offerings, and the beautifully adorned "ofrendas," will pay tribute to the lives of our departed loved ones at the Villa Parke Community Center from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Carved at Descanso Gardens
Carved returns with a new route and even more pumpkin magic at Descanso Gardens! Stroll through a trail filled with illuminated jack-o'-lanterns, massive hand-carved gourds, and vibrant light displays. Enjoy the popular Descanso Railroad and marvel at the towering wood spirits carved by Chainsaw Jenna. Don't miss the "Rhizome" light installation by Tom and Lien Dekyvere. Rain or shine, this family-friendly event offers Halloween fun for all ages.
Haunted Pasadena Walking Tour
Discover eerie alleys and haunted secrets on a nighttime wander through the Playhouse Village, Civic Center, and Old Pasadena. Dive into unsolved mysteries and dirty dealings that pepper Pasadena's past. From stories about the catacombs to the Parsons Suicide Squad to Crazy Cazaurang, experience the Haunted Pasadena Walking Tour on select Fridays and Saturdays at 6:30 p.m.
Strange Science at The Huntington
Travel from an ancient era to a dystopian future at this year’s Strange Science Halloween bash on October 24 - 25, 2025! Enjoy thrilling performances, engaging talks, and live beats on the dance floor. It's an unforgettable evening filled with chills, thrills, and a journey through time.
Bark in the Park: Howl-o-ween
There's another opportunity to celebrate Halloween in Pasadena with your pets. The Pasadena Village Foundation invites furry friends and friends to the Playhouse Village Park on Sunday, October 26 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm for a Howl-o-ween Parade & Costume Contest. This free event will feature treat stations, pup bites, and fun activities for all ages (in dog years too)!
Trick-Or-Treating in Old Pasadena
Dress up in your most creative costumes on October 31 and head over to Old Pasadena for a Treat Trail. Enjoy store-to-store Trick-or-Treating and discover a variety of delicious treats and surprises at every turn, where shops and restaurants are handing out Halloween goodies for the little ones (first-come first-served). Once the candy bag is full, pose for a family portrait in the Halloween-themed photo area.
The Haunting of Old Pasadena
On Halloween, step into a historic haunted basement and test your courage at The Bunker Experience. Gather your family and friends to take on a post-apocalyptic mission, navigate a chilling maze, and fight to escape the haunted horrors... if you dare. The Bunker Experience will be open from 2:00 - 9:00 pm on October 31, 2025.
