In 2026, Colorado Boulevard will mark its 150th anniversary since the opening of a general store and post office in 1876 at its intersection with Fair Oaks Avenue. Throughout the mid-20th century, it functioned as a primary thoroughfare for travelers. Along this historic route, numerous landmarks stand, including the renowned Pasadena Playhouse, one of the oldest and most esteemed theaters in the nation, and the iconic Pasadena City Hall, a distinguished representation of Mediterranean Revival architecture. Additionally, Colorado Boulevard holds significance as the principal path for the world-famous Rose Parade, drawing in thousands of spectators from around the world. (Photograph by J.
