Pasadena, California (March 31, 2023) - The Pasadena Civic Auditorium celebrates the return of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” (AGT) for the taping of Season 18 auditions, where aspiring performers compete to win the ultimate $1 million prize. Show tapings for the May 30 premiere are taking place at the auditorium March 25 through April 14, with several shows planned each week. AGT fans can join host Terry Crews as he returns to the historic performance hall, along with judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel to find the best singers, dancers, contortionists, and more.
“It’s an exciting day when the ‘America’s Got Talent’ banners go up at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, signifying the start of the enthralling new season,” said Michael Ross, CEO of Pasadena Center Operating Company. “The iconic celebrity host and judges, enthusiastic live audiences, and electrifying talents combined with a venue as legendary as the Pasadena Civic Auditorium is a recipe for a fantastic spring for the city’s hotels, restaurants, attractions, and small businesses. We look forward to building onto our legacy.”
The Pasadena Civic Auditorium has been the backdrop to the dazzling “America’s Got Talent” taped shows since 2016, and last year their partnership expanded to include the mesmerizing live shows that take place throughout the summer. This season’s live shows are set to begin at the auditorium on August 22 and run for six weeks.
The 3,000-seat theater listed on the National Register of Historic Places has set the stage for countless televised shows, concerts, and events, including the Daytime Emmy Awards, NAACP Image Awards, Motown 25, and “So You Think You Can Dance.” The venue is centrally located in Pasadena, a walkable city with a streamlined public transit system with the LA Metro, Pasadena Transit, Foothill Transit Authority, and Metro Micro serving the public.
The search for the country’s best talent takes over the Pasadena Civic Auditorium with an all-new AGT fan experience that includes photo opportunities at a replica judge's desk and red carpet. Audience giveaways include gift cards, finale tickets, and more. Ticket holders will also receive 25% off towards food purchases at Yard House Pasadena across the street at Paseo on the same day.
