A Century of Monster Makers
Horror aficionados and the creative professionals who bring these scary creatures to life will return to the Pasadena Convention Center in April for the 10th Monsterpalooza. The show is for fans as well as industry professionals — more than 250 exhibitors will present live makeup demonstrations, celebrity meet and greets, and a Monster Museum exhibition.
Visit the Monster Museum to view props from motion pictures and television shows, as well as installations by award winning artists.
Attend unique presentations at the Monsterpalooza Theatre featuring actors and directors of the horror film genre, as well as screenwriters and special effects artists. Past presentations include An American Warewold in London, The Howling, Predator, Tremors, The Exorcist, and Return of the Living Dead.
Pam Grier | An American actress. She starred in Quentin Tarantino’s film Jackie Brown, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.
Tobin Bell | An American actor. He is best known for his portrayal of John Kramer / Jigsaw in the eight films of the Saw franchise.
Alex Winter | An American actor, film director and screenwriter, best known for his role as Bill S. Preston, in the 1989 film Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
Cassandra Peterson | An American actress best known for her portrayal of the horror hostess character Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.
Doug Bradley | An English actor, best known for his role as the Lead Cenobite “Pinhead” in the Hellraiser film series.
Tom Savini | An American actor, stunt performer, film director, and prosthetic makeup artist.
The Chiodo Brothers | An American group of sibling special effects artists, specializing in clay modeling, creature creation, stop motion and animatronics.
Danny Trejo | An American actor. He is best known for his roles in Machete and From Dusk Till Dawn. He is also, a restaurateur who opened Trejos Cantina Pasadena which located along El Molino Avenue, next door to the Pasadena Playhouse.

Saturday tickets are only available at the door for $35.
Children under 10 years of age are free with paid adult admission. Note: Strollers are not permitted.
Parking at the convention center is $13 per day for up to 16 hours or $18 per day for in and out privileges. The subterranean parking structure is shared with the Sheraton Pasadena. The entrance is located on Euclid Avenue between Green Street and Cordova Street. Additionally, parking is available in several private structures around the convention center, these are operated by Paseo Colorado. More info→
Public Transportation – Metro Gold Line
The Pasadena Convention Center is within walking distance of two Metro Gold Line stations, Del Mar Station and Memorial Park Station. If you are traveling southbound toward East Los Angeles / Union Station, detrain at Memorial Park; if you are traveling northbound towards Sierra Madre Villa, detrain at Del Mar Station.
The Westin Pasadena is within walking distance to the convention center, three and a half blocks away. Group rates starts at $169 (ask for the Monsterpalooza rate). To reserve a room call +1 (626) 792-2727, the block usually sells out in advance.
The Sheraton Pasadena adjacent to the Pasadena Convention Center, across from Paseo Colorado, and within walking distance of Old Pasadena. Sheraton Pasadena recently completed a $20 million renovation of guest rooms, lobby and meeting spaces in 2017. Group rates starts at $209 (ask for the Monsterpalooza rate).
