In the wake of the Eaton Fire, our cherished city and neighboring communities have faced overwhelming challenges. The devastation has deeply touched the lives of many, but together, we are rebuilding with resilience and hope.
Visit Pasadena is so thankful to learn the Eaton Fire is now at 100% containment. There will never be enough words to adequately and appropriately express our gratitude toward the first responders and frontline workers, so for now, we’ll start with a massive THANK YOU. We are in absolute awe of this community. It’s truly an honor to be part of and represent Pasadena. From the moment the Convention Center opened its doors on Tuesday evening to now, you have shown up and shown out. You make Pasadena the remarkable place that it is.

Is it safe to travel to Pasadena right now?
There are no travel restrictions on visitors. The city's major attractions, venues, and accommodations remain open and fully operational, providing safe and vibrant experiences for visitors. We acknowledge the profound impact the Eaton fire has had on our communities and extend our deepest gratitude to the first responders who have worked tirelessly to protect our community to reach 100% containment on January 31, 2025. As we move forward together, we encourage travelers to be mindful of affected areas and to visit with care, respect, and compassion.
Is it appropriate for me to visit Pasadena right now?
Travel and tourism are essential to our community’s recovery. Your decision to visit helps local businesses stay open, keeps people employed, and ensures that families who rely on tourism can rebuild and move forward.
Is the wildfire still active?
Thanks to the heroic work of firefighters and first responders the Eaton Fire is 100% contained.
What areas of Pasadena are open right now?
Our iconic landmarks, unique attractions and cultural experiences are open and operating normally, including the Rose Bowl Stadium, Norton Simon Museum, Kidspace Children's Museum, Gamble House, and the Huntington.
What areas are closed right now?
As recovery efforts continue, restricted access is currently in place for areas of Altadena and some residential areas in Pasadena. Eaton Canyon and the Angeles National Forest remain closed to the public and require a permit to access. During this time, we urge our partners and visitors to travel responsibly and respectfully by avoiding the impacted areas.
Is the air quality safe?
Air quality across much of Los Angeles County has been generally stable, with many areas, including Pasadena, reporting “good” conditions according to the Air Quality Index. However, air quality can vary by location and change daily. You can stay up-to-date on our air quality and weather forecasts with the latest information from AirNow.gov and the National Weather Service.
Will my hotel accommodation in Pasadena be disrupted by the city’s recovery efforts?
Our hotels are fully operational and well-positioned to accommodate the needs of residents and visitors alike. We are ready to welcome visitors.

Where is the Disaster Recovery Center?
Disaster Recovery Centers are open to the public from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM every day. Residents can speak with representatives from County, State, and Federal agencies to access a range of resources and services to help with the recovery process. The Disaster Recovery Center serving residents affected by the Eaton Fire is located at:

To assist those that have been affected by the fires, LA County has put together the LA County Recovers website of resources to help and support the need now and in the long recovery period ahead.

Red Cross
Anyone who would like to register as a volunteer can sign up with the Red Cross at http://RedCross.org/volunteer

If you find a pet (including dogs and cats), please call Animal Control at 626-792-7151 ext. 970.
If you found an injured wild animal, please text Pasadena Humane’s Wildlife Helpline at 626-344-1129.
Canine Rescue Club
The club is looking for volunteers to offer temporary foster care for dogs displaced by the fires. You can apply to temporarily house an affected dog by filling out an online form.
Where can I make a monetary donation?
Eaton Fire Relief Fund
The Pasadena Community Foundation (PCF) has opened the Eaton Fire Relief and Recovery Fund providing an opportunity for those who want to support immediate and longer term needs of those who were impacted by the Eaton Fire. The Eaton Fire Relief and Recovery Fund will direct resources to funds supporting non-profits active in place-based relief and recovery efforts.
Pasadena Humane Society
The Pasadena Humane Society (PHS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the welfare and well-being of animals in the Pasadena area. It provides services such as animal rescue, adoption, and veterinary care, as well as community outreach programs aimed at promoting responsible pet ownership.

Eaton Canyon Nature Center is a public nature center located in the San Gabriel Mountains that offers a range of educational programs and activities focused on local wildlife, ecology, and conservation.

Altadena Mountain Rescue Team
The Altadena Mountain Rescue Team (AMRT) is a volunteer-based organization that provides search and rescue services in the San Gabriel Mountains and surrounding areas. The team is trained in wilderness rescue techniques and is called upon to assist local authorities in locating and rescuing lost or injured hikers, climbers, and other civilians in challenging and rugged terrain.
