Parkway Grill opened to rave reviews in 1984, and has been a powerful force in the regional american cuisine movement ever since. Parkway Grill's exhibition kitchen features a mesquite burning grill and oak wood burning oven — one of the very first of its kind in Los Angeles.
The stunning, expansive bar is an original from 1920's Chicago that was transported to Pasadena in the early 1980's — a handsome representation of Pasadena's Midwestern roots. Amidst the dark wood motifs are top-shelf liquors, aperitifs, and a broad selection of wines served by the glass. Parkway Grill features live music every night except Sunday — a jazz duo performs each Friday. Music Director, David Arnay has been overseeing music programming at Parkway Grill for over 20 years, he specializes in jazz and standards, and he is on the faculty of the Thornton School of Music at USC. Pianists at Parkway Grill bring an extensive playlist and take requests.
