Pasadena, CA (October 24, 2019) – This holiday season, Pasadena will be merry and bright when Lythgoe Family Panto returns to the historic Pasadena Civic Auditorium with their 10-year anniversary production of A Snow White Christmas, December 13-22, 2019. This is the third year in a row the production company will showcase a family-friendly musical at the venue. Last December, Lythgoe Family Panto produced The Wonderful Winter of Oz, featuring some of Hollywood’s most recognized actors.
Presented in association with the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and Lythgoe Family Panto, A Snow White Christmas follows Princess Snow White (Olivia Sanabia, Disney Channel’s Coop & Cami Ask the World, Amazon’s original series Just Add Magic) who joins forces with the Seven Dwarfs to defeat The Wicked Queen, Grammy Award-winning recording artist and actress, Michelle Williams. Most recently, Lythgoe Family Panto announced Michael Campion in the role of Prince Harry (Netflix’s Fuller House) alongside Jared Gertner (Broadway’s The Book of Mormon) as Muddles, Garrett Clayton (Teen Beach Movie, Teen Beach 2, Hairspray Live!) as The Huntsman, and Tony Award Winner Neil Patrick Harris as The On Screen Magic Mirror.
“After two wonderful years, we are delighted to welcome Lythgoe Family Panto back to the Pasadena Civic Auditorium for a third year in a row,” said Jeanne Goldschmidt, executive director of the Pasadena Convention & Visitors Bureau. “With this being their 10-year anniversary, we cannot wait to see what they have in store for fans, especially with this year’s spectacular cast and storytelling surrounding A Snow White Christmas.”
“We are so excited to be collaborating with our friends at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium once again,” said the Lythgoe Family Panto. “Pasadena is the home of Panto and in celebrating our 10-year anniversary we are returning to the original production that began it all, A Snow White Christmas.”
Production will also include a special student matinee on Friday December 13, 2019 at 11:00am, servicing over 2,000 Title One school children who will be introduced to the magic of live theatre for the very first time.
Built in 1932, during the Great Depression, the Pasadena Civic Auditorium has welcomed millions of patrons across Southern California. Inspired by Mediterranean Revival architecture, the 3,000 seat theatre has hosted countless concerts and plays, including but not limited to the Daytime Emmy Awards, NAACP Image Awards, Red Velvet (K-pop), Stray Kids (K-pop), An Evening with Eckhart Tolle, Johnny Mathis, Aziz Ansari and Bill Burr. The historic venue has also been home to television shows such as “Alias,” “American Idol,” “America’s Got Talent,” “So You Think You Can Dance,” “Scandal” and “NCIS.”
Known for their creativity and involvement in television hits “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance,” the Lythgoes are dedicated to bringing affordable theatre to families across America. Based on the Grimm fairy tales and others, each story has been modernized with topical scripts for parents and well-known pop songs for kids. The Lythgoes pride themselves on creating a memorable experience a family can share together.
A Snow White Christmas marks Lythgoe Family Panto’s third production at the historic Pasadena Civic Auditorium and their eighth consecutive Panto presentation in Pasadena, five of which were presented at Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California.
