Planetary Society

The Planetary Society's vision is, "Know the cosmos and our place within it." Carl Sagan, Louis Friedman, and Bruce Murray recognized the public's interest in space and that was not reflected in the government's investment. In 1980, the group founded The Planetary Society to give everyone an opportunity to take part in advancing space exploration.

The Planetary Society is currently under the leadership of CEO Bill Nye and stands as the world's largest and most influential non-profit space organization. Anyone can volunteer and become a member.
