La Chula Café is a 1st generation Latina-owned pop up coffee shop inside Pasadena Roots. Hailing from Guatemala, the Alvarado family opened a mobile plant shop during the pandemic. Soon, the shop became an aesthetically beautiful brick and mortar shop in Pasadena's East Washington neighborhood. Not long after, the family launched La Chula Café as a pop up shop at the same location.
Enjoy menu items such as the horchata with a double shot of espresso to get the day going. There are also coconut flavored drinks, a breakfast burrito made with love by mama Alvarado, and a lovely selection of plantitas, or 'little plants'.
