Get an inside scoop on all that Pasadena has to offer from Jessica Yeh, Marketing Specialist for the Pasadena Convention and Visitors Bureau.

My role as the Marketing Specialist for the Pasadena Convention and Visitors Bureau puts me behind the scenes of Pasadena’s branding, image, and voice. I write website content, design print, and digital graphic design, shoot photography and videography, manage paid and organic advertising, maintain our social media accounts, and monitor online analytics.

outdoor plaza

After living on the east coast for 25 years, Pasadena’s blue skies, palm trees, and sunshine are a breath of fresh air. Moving here and being able to escape the rain and snow to warm weather was a no-brainer. Pasadena’s architecture, murals, and street art make it (literally) the picture-perfect location. One of my favorite spots in Pasadena is Plaza Las Fuentes. It’s gorgeous, quiet, and secluded. The mosaic walls and rainbow colors remind me of Barcelona’s infamous Park Güell, without the jetlag. The plaza also has tables and chairs, which makes it even easier to sit and relax. Give a girl a sketchbook and some headphones and I could spend all day there.

One Zo boba

Another favorite spot is One Zo Boba. Though relatively new to the Old Pasadena scene, One Zo Boba makes their own handmade boba in flavors you can’t get anywhere else. The taro milk tea with taro boba is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth like me.

Finally, is the Pasadena Playhouse. Anyone who’s a thespian needs to see at least one production there. The venue is intimate and there is no bad seat in the house. Plus, the audience always has an amazing energy, especially on opening nights. I highly recommend seeing a musical because the performances are Hollywood-A-list-level without the A-list prices.
