Communications Manager - Full Time

The Communications Manager implements the communications program to promote Pasadena as a premier meetings and leisure destination. They develop targeted, effective media pitches and submissions that garner media exposure for Pasadena as a travel and meetings destination and for the Pasadena Center Operating Company, Pasadena Convention Center, Pasadena Civic Auditorium and Ice Skating Center. They act as a liaison for the local and regional tourism industry and media. The successful candidate demonstrates a personal commitment to excellence, professionalism, and creativity; builds strong working relationships; exhibits excellent decision-making, problem-solving and project management skills.

Communications Manager Full Description

Destination Services Coordinator - Full Time

The individual in this role manages destination services and implements service standards and procedures. They develop, coordinate, and direct activities for convention groups and special events for the CVB to provide quality customer service. They provide expertise on Pasadena with an in-depth knowledge of the destination, its hospitality partners, and the Convention Center. In addition, they assist the CVB Executive Director and other Sales Managers with all sales function logistics. These include (but are not limited to) maintaining the sales tracking system; preparing periodic sales reports; preparing sales manager presentations; maintaining client files; handling travel plans and expense reports.

Event Services Supervisor - Full-time
Event Services Attendant - Full-time

These teams provide custodial and housekeeping services to maintain and keep buildings in a clean and inviting condition. They read and interpret paperwork regarding room set-ups. They set up and breakdown a variety of equipment, including, but not limited to chairs, tables, staging, risers, trash cans, dance floors, podiums and other related equipment in meeting rooms and exhibit spaces. They push/pull loaded carts of tables, chairs, and other articles required to the event spaces. They service and clean restrooms and replenish supplies. Monitor and remove trash and waste. Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, vacuum and/or clean floors.

Guest Services Representative – Part-time

The person in this position interacts with the public to provide assistance and information for the Conference Center, Convention Center and Civic Auditorium. They manage access to events throughout the facilities. This could be in the parking booth taking payments, or in the venue’s buildings managing crowds, checking tickets, ushering or surveillance. The ideal person for this position must have a welcoming, helpful, professional and positive attitude. They should enjoy interacting with the public. Good communication skills are important.

Ice Rink Supervisor – Part-time

This person will assist the General Manager and management staff to oversee and manage the day-to-day operational functions of the ice rink including: supervising rink staff & coaches, customer service, rink and ice maintenance, and equipment operation. The Pasadena Ice Skating Center is open an average of 20 hours per day / 7 days a week. This busy, fun environment provides a satisfying job opportunity!

Ice Rink Staff – Part-time

The Ice Rink Staff members assist guests by handling cash transactions for admission, skate rentals, and lessons, providing assistance with skate rental and repair, monitoring ice floor to ensure safety of skaters, performing custodial and housekeeping services to keep the building clean and inviting, providing customer service assistance to guests.

The individual in this role manages Convention and Visitors Bureau destination services and implements service standards and procedures. They also provide expertise on Pasadena with an in-depth knowledge of the destination, its hospitality partners, and the Convention Center. They develop, coordinate, and direct activities for convention groups and special events for the CVB, to provide quality customer service, along with administrative support for the CVB sales team.
