Stay Safe Pledge

The Pasadena community is committed to the health and safety of residents and visitors.

Our hotels, museums, attractions, and businesses have taken the Pasadena Cares Stay Safe pledge to demonstrate their commitment to the health and wellness of our residents and visitors by exceeding CDC guidelines.

Businesses that sign the Stay Safe Pledge, pledge to:

  • Conduct a health and safety assessment of their business operations.
  • Create and adopt policies and protocols specific to their business that prioritizes the health and safety of employees as well as patrons.
  • Adopt industry best practices, such as those recommended by, but not limited to, the American Hotel & Lodging Association, California Hotel & Lodging Association, National Restaurant Association, National Retail Federation, and the Food & Drug Administration.
  • Enhance employee protocols and training regarding ways to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and increase employee access to PPE.
  • Stay informed of existing and changes to public health requirements
  • Follow, implement and exceed – where possible or appropriate – the guidance issued by the City of Pasadena Public Health Department, State of California, and the CDC.

Some measures businesses can implement to exceed CDC guidelines include:

  • Mandatory vaccination policy
  • Weekly testing for unvaccinated employees
  • Maximize employee participation in vaccination
  • Leverage technology for enhanced COVID safety
  • Physical distancing
  • Masking indoors and outdoors

About the Pasadena Cares Stay Safe Pledge

To support the health of workers and customers, as well as to support the local economy, Pasadena’s businesses have an opportunity to participate in the Stay Safe Pledge Program. Although the State of California has lifted restrictions across most industries, the spread of COVID-19 still impacts how we do business. The City of Pasadena and Visit Pasadena have launched the Stay Safe Pledge Program to encourage local businesses to go above and beyond the CDC guidance to demonstrate their commitment to the safety and well-being of all Pasadena residents and visitors. The Stay Safe Pledge Program is voluntary; businesses may choose whether participation in the program makes sense for their individual business operations.
