  • The Pasadena Tournament of Roses invites high school and college-aged students to participate in an inspirational forum with leaders from the local San Gabriel community and beyond. The day will touch on topics related to career, networking, and personal development. Attendees will leave feeling empowered to be courageous, confident, and intentional with the choices that impact their future. The panel will be moderated by Jess Rosales.

    Keynote Speakers

    Jess Rosales – Sports Report and Entertainment Host, Moderator

    Jess Rosales is a sports reporter and entertainment host as seen on FS1, HBO Latino, ESPN Deportes, TVG and an in-arena host for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Rose Bowl Game. A graduate of California State University, Jess has been in the reporting industry for over 10 years.

    Vivian Chan – Culinary Producer & Host, Food Network

    Vivian Chan is a native Brooklynite who has a passion to feed, teach and engage people with food. She discovered how best to combine her media roots and love for food at the Food Network. She creates content for many digital platforms for Discovery brands and is the face of Food Network Kitchen.  Today, she is the host of Food Network’s Monday Bites, Let’s Eat and Viv’s Tips. Vivian is also a recurring judge for Christmas Cookie Challenge, Beat Bobby Flay and Worst Cooks in America. She resides in Brooklyn, New York and lives by this motto, Do what you love, and you’ll never work another day in your life.

    Daraiha Greene – Global Head of Strategic Partnerships, Google

    Daraiha J. Greene is the Global Head of Strategic Partnerships on the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion team at Google. She develops relationships with external organizations, influencers, key opinion formers, and media / entertainment executives to shape community sentiments in service of recruitment, retention and pipeline goals.     Mirai Nagasu – Figure Skater, 2018 Olympic Bronze Medalist

    Mirai Nagasu, Two-Time Olympian, has never backed down from a challenge. She became the first American female figure skater to land a triple axel in an Olympic Winter Games.  Mirai performed the difficult three-and-a-half revolution jump, helping Team USA win a Bronze Medal in the Olympic Team event.     Katelyn Ohashi – Gymnast, UCLA

    Katelyn is a student-athlete in her senior year at UCLA and is a six-time All-American in the sport of gymnastics. A native of Seattle, Ohashi was named the 2018 NCAA and Pac-12 Floor Exercise Co-Champion, while the Bruin squad earned the 2018 NCAA Team Champion title. The four-year member of the USA Gymnastics’ National Team has scored five career perfect 10s, including her floor routine that went viral in January, 2019. Ohashi is a gender studies major who possesses a passion for poetry and uses her platform to promote the importance of body positivity.

    Quinton Peron – NFL Cheerleader, Los Angeles Rams

    Quinton is a professional dancer, cheerleader, choreographer and a youth advocate. Quinton’s main goal in life is to educate our youth and inspire them to pursue their dreams because anything is possible!

    Dave Piendak – Comedy Segment Producer, The Late Late Show with James Corden

    Dave Piendak is a television producer with over 10 years experience in late night comedy and daytime talk. He is currently a Comedy Segment Producer on the Emmy Award-winning The Late Late Show with James Corden and has worked on the show since its first season in 2015. He has overseen live in-studio and pre-taped field segments that have received millions of views on YouTube and over 18+ million YouTube subscribers. Dave was one of the show’s producers featured in Variety’s 2017 Artisans Elite Impact Report.

    Sarah Toutant – Doctoral Student, USC

    Sarah Toutant is a PhD student of Urban Education Policy at University of Southern California (USC) as Dr. Shaun Harper’s advisee and serves as a research associate in the USC Race and Equity Center. Prior to her current graduate work, Sarah graduated from USF in 2016 with a BA in both Sociology and Critical Diversity Studies.     Ruben Dario Villa – Designer at Google, Founder of Fuchila Fresheners

    Ruben Dario Villa was born and raised in San Jose, CA and moved to Gilroy at 12. He is one of 3 children to Dario and Carmen Villa, Mexican immigrants and all around hustlers. Ruben works full-time as a visual/UX designer at Google in Mountain View, CA.  Founder of Fúchila Fresheners, he is a “working” Chicano artist and runs his newly formed creative agency: Chips & Guac. Ruben is married to his best friend Vero and has two ridiculously cute kids Luna de Aztlan and Teocalli Calixto.
