  • Summer of Sound 2017

Muse/ique is a non-profit organization that produces pop-up orchestra concerts in unconventional spaces. Their annual summer concert series entitled Summer of Sound consists of one show each month throughout the summer. Each summer season is given a theme, the 2017 season is themed Motown Miracle in homage to the prolific record label from Detroit that helped shape American music in the 1960s. The concert in June is entitled Ritmo/Town, July is entitled Soul/Town, and August is Glow/Town.

Soul/Town will take place on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Caltech’s Beckman Mall. The legendary Darlene Love (who was featured in 20 Feet from Stardom) will join Muse/Ique’s Maestra Rachael Worby and her orchestra, together they will reprise 1800 church gospel and the Motown Sound with inspiring performances of “River Deep—Mountain High,” “He’s a Rebel,” and “Da Doo Ron Ron.
