  • Free Jazz Concerts in Pasadena

    Catch free Jazz concerts every summer in the Playhouse District. Concerts take place in the public courtyard between Vroman’s Bookstore and the Laemmle Payhouse 7 on Sunday evenings from 5 to 7 PM. The series features different musicians each month and concerts range from blues to smooth jazz.

    About The Playhouse District

    The Playhouse District is a commercial and residential neighborhood that surrounds its namesake, the Pasadena Playhouse. It is the Pasadena’s performing arts hub, in addition to the State Theatre of California, the Playhouse District is also home to Boston Court Performing Arts Center, Ice House Comedy Club, and Laemmle’s Playhouse 7.     Metro Gold Line

    Lake Station is six blocks (.6 miles, 1 km) from Vroman’s Bookstore, it takes about 13 minutes to walk from Lake Station to the concert. Rather than walking, visitors can connect to the Metro Bus 180/181 (Hollywood/Vine Station) at Lake Station and exit the bus at Colorado Boulevard/Oak Knoll Avenue, from there walk a couple of doors west towards El Molino Avenue, in the same direction the bus is traveling. The entrance to the public courtyard is on the right immediately after Vroman’s, but before the Laemmle Playhouse 7.

    Note: Google Maps will take you around the block, to the rear entrance, which adds a some extra steps, the directions provided above are a little more convenient.
