  • Breeders’ Cup, one of Thoroughbred horse racing’s most prestigious international events, has announced the return of Pasadena Fan Fest, a special community celebration created to commemorate the first day of the 2019 Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

    Hosted by Breeders’ Cup and the Pasadena Convention & Visitors Bureau, Pasadena Fan Fest will take place on the evening of Friday, November 1 on the plaza of the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Kicking off at 7:00 p.m., the event will feature a live performance by Kenny Metcalf as Elton, an award-winning Elton John tribute act, as well as delectable dishes from local food trucks and handcrafted cocktails.

    The Breeders’ Cup administers the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, Thoroughbred racing’s year-end Championships. The Breeders’ Cup also administers the Breeders’ Cup Challenge qualifying series, which provides automatic starting positions into the Championships races. The 2019 Breeders’ Cup World Championships, consisting of 14 races (13 Grade 1 events) with purses and awards totaling more than $30 million, will be held on November 1-2 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif., and will be televised live by the NBC Sports Group.
