  • NASA Sound Sculpture

The Huntington‘s sound sculpture exhibit has been extended to September 2, 2019. The sculpture is 28 feet in diameter and sheathed in shiny aluminum, as visitors walk into the structure they will encounter a symphony of sounds that represent the movement of the International Space Station and 19 Earth satellites. NASA collaborated with New York-based architecture firm StudioKCA, who conceived of and designed the sculpture’s shell shape and structure.

    NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory

Orbit Pavilion is the first installment of The Huntington’s initiative to focus on creative collaborations with other organizations. NASA along with visual strategists from Jet Propulsion Laboratory thought of the idea to represent the movement of the International Space Station and 19 earth satellites by way of artistically created sounds.
