Mt. Wilson Observatory's Sunday Afternoon Concerts in the Dome

Mount Wilson Observatory's Sunday Afternoon Concerts in the Dome six-month series, will take place Sunday, June 19, 2022. The performances are presented inside the iconic vaulted dome of the 100-inch telescope. This series is curated by Artistic Director Cécilia Tsan.
The program will be an extensive presentation of a masterpiece: the Ravel String Quartet performed by the Salastina Music Society (Maia Jasper White and Kevin Kumar, violins, Johanna Nowik, viola, Charlie Tyler, cello). Artistic Directors White and Kumar are residents of Salastina Nowik and Tyler are guest artists.

All proceeds go to support the Mt. Wilson Institute in its mission to preserve, protect and promote the Observatory and the science accomplished there. Poised for rediscovery, the grounds of the legendary observatory—founded in 1904 by astrophysical pioneer George Ellery Hale—are open for free to the public year round.
