Free Family Festival
Live on Green is a three-day family festival that takes place at the Pasadena Convention Center December 29 through December 31. Live on Green helps to kick off the city’s New Year’s Day events for the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game.
Phillip Phillips who made a name for himself after winning the eleventh season of American Idol will be performing live at The Paseo on December 29, 2018. Phillips has toured with John Mayer, shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen at the Rock in Rio festival, and supported the Goo Goo Dolls’ summer 2017 national summer tour. His new album Collateral on Interscope Records was released early 2018.
What to Expect
Live on Green features five pavilions of entertainment, discovery and fun.
♦ Coaches Challenge Family Zone | where kids can take part in games, crafts and obstacle course.
♦ Celebrate with Spirit Pavilion | celebrates the 2019 Rose Parade theme The Melody of Life, with awe-inspiring displays and interactive exhibits.
♦ Celebrate the Extraordinary Pavilion | brings to the life the history, artistry and pageantry of the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game with displays, memorabilia, photo ops, virtual tours, and meet and greets.
♦ Culinary Cues Stage | has celebrity and local chefs, and mixologists that will provide cooking demos.
♦ Let Us Entertain You Stage | will have live performances of dance, theater, comedy and music.

Metro Gold Line
The Metro Gold Line is a light rail train system that runs from Downtown Los Angeles to Pasadena. There are two train stations within walking distance, (1) Del Mar Station is three blocks away, it takes about ten minutes to walk to Live on Green and there is a small hill. Memorial Park Station is four blocks away, it takes about eight minutes to walk to Live on Green and there are no hills on this route. Cost is $1.75 per person each way, students K-12 pay $1 each way.
Parking is available at the Pasadena Convention Center for $15 per day for up to 16 hours or $21 per day for in and out privileges. The subterranean parking structure is located under the convention center and is shared with the Sheraton Pasadena. There are two entrances to the parking structure, (1) on Euclid Avenue between Green Street and Cordova Street, and (2) on Marengo Avenue between Green Street and Cordova Street. View Map→
Hotels sell out quickly during this time of the year, reserving a guestroom in advance is highly encouraged.
