    The Human Services and Recreation Department and volunteer Black History Parade and Festival Planning Committee are hosting the annual Pasadena Black History Parade and Festival on Saturday, February 15th, 2020. A full schedule of events celebrates the achievements of and recognizes African-Americans in U. S. History. Pasadena is proud to host one of the largest Black History parades in Southern California. The parade begins at 10:00 a.m., and a festival at Robinson Park immediately follows the parade. This year’s parade will include over 80 entries including the Wilson Middle School Drum Corps, Miss Black Pasadena, the Tournament of Roses 2020 Royal Court, Pasadena City College Band; Blair, John Muir and Pasadena High School. The community grand marshal is Edna Bluain. The youth grand marshals are Alaysia Barker and Elijah Gates. The festival will include live entertainment, food for purchase, meet and greet with Miss Black Pasadena, Power 106 Street Team, and a children’s zone.

    Street Closures

    The following streets will be closed for the parade and festival during the times listed below:

    • Hammond Street between Fair Oaks Ave and Morton Ave, 7:00 am- 6:00 pm
    • Morton Ave between Mountain St and Woodbury Rd, 9:00 am- 5:00 pm
    • Fair Oaks Ave between Woodbury Rd and Harriet St, 7:00 am- 12:00 pm
    • Fair Oaks Ave between Mountain St and Woodbury Rd, 9:00 am- 1:30 pm
    • Mountain St between Raymond Ave and Sunset St, 9:00 am- 1:30 pm
