    Astrofest is a free family-friendly, space-themed event taking place at the Pasadena Convention Center on July 14, 2018. Astrofest launches a week long festival of hands-on activities, robotics demos, creative art displays, planetarium shows and more at the Pasadena Convention Center, with evening star-gazing from both the Pasadena Convention Center and The Paseo.

    What to Expect

    Race a robot, take a virtual reality tour of another solar system, make your own comet, explore the night sky in a planetarium, check out vintage space-themed movie props and star gaze.

    Astronomy Week

    The Astrofest is part of Astronomy Week, a week-long series of public events celebrating Pasadena’s rich history as an innovative “City of Astronomy”, as well as an international leader for telescopic celestial discovery and robotic space science. Together with scientists from all over the world who will be gathering during the same week for the 42nd COSPAR Assembly, we invite you to take part and explore our place in the Universe.

    Event Parking

    For this event, parking at the Pasadena Convention Center is $13 per day for up to 16 hours, or $18 per day for in and out privileges. The subterranean parking structure is shared with the Sheraton Pasadena. The entrance is located on Euclid Avenue between Green Street and Cordova Street. Additionally, parking is available in several private structures around the convention center, these are operated by Paseo Colorado. More→

    Driving Directions

    The Pasadena Convention Center is located in downtown Pasadena, off of the 210 freeway as well as the 110 freeway. For detailed direction click here or visit Google Maps.

    Metro Gold Line

    The Metro Gold Line is a light rail train system that runs from Downtown Los Angeles to Pasadena. There are two train station within walking distance, (1) Del Mar Station is three blocks away, it is about ten minutes to walk to to the Convention Center and there is a small hill. (2) Memorial Park Station is four blocks away, it takes about eight minutes to walk to the Convention Center and there are no hills on this route. Cost is $1.75 per person each way, students k-12 pay $1 each way. More→
