Eaton Canyon Hike

Follow a 3.4-mile out and back trail that features a 40-foot waterfall and is rated easy to moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and nature trips and is accessible year-round. There are several mild stream crossings and fun boulder-hopping areas, which are easily manageable. And the scenery is gorgeous, given that wildflowers carpet the lower portion of the valley. An expert CPR/ First Aid certified local guide will keep you safe and ensure everyone has a great time as they lead you along the trails and through an excellent nature center that has great exhibits and presentations. Pasadena Bike & Hike

Pasadena ranks as one of California's most picturesque and historical cities, famed for its spectacular Tournament of Roses parade and of course its world famous stadium, the Rose Bowl. Due to its temperate climate, wide avenues and beautiful scenery, Pasadena is ideally suited for outdoor activities. Your adventure begins just outside the doors of the historic Langham Huntington, Pasadena. Choose from two distinctly different Pasadena excursions:

Itinerary One: Mansions, Gardens & More

Your group will explore the Oak Knoll section of Pasadena and see some notable homes featured in television shows and movies such as Father of the Bride, Brothers and Sisters, Benson and the infamous "Lily Pond" estate where Dynasty's Krystle and Alexis duked it out. Next stop is The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens famed for its art collection housed in a historic estate, and its one-of-a-kind gardens comprising over 120 acres. The estate itself is magnificent (it doubled as Robert Redford's palace in the film Indecent Proposal) and over 14,000 varieties of plants are showcased in more than a dozen principal garden areas. The botanical themes for these gardens include Australian, Chinese, Japanese, Shakespeare, and Rose and Palm. Each one, an amazing showstopper in its own right.

Then it's time to get your "Big Bang" on by cycling past the California Institute of Technology camps. For fans of the hit CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory, this is especially hallowed ground—it's where Sheldon, Raj and the other guys all work, play and get into trouble. Finally, you'll visit Old Pasadena, the core of the city. Many sites await including historic hotels, galleries, even a converted train station. From here it's a short bike ride back to our Langham Huntington, Pasadena starting point.

Itinerary Two: Bike & Hike of Pasadena with Rose Bowl Tour

This biking and hiking of Pasadena tour will cover much of the same ground as Itinerary One, with one notable exception: instead of visiting The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens to the west, your group will travel east to visit the world famous football stadium, the Rose Bowl. Nicknamed the "Granddaddy of Them All," this stadium hosts the most prestigious and also oldest college football championship game. You'll bike by the stadium and then enjoy a tour of selected areas of its interior.

Cost — $82.80 per person, includes gratuity.

Bridge to Nowhere Hike

Go on a 10-mile trek down the East Fork of the San Gabriel River, following the path of an attempted highway. This is a hike for the more advanced hikers, since it has an elevation gain of 800 ft! It's really exciting to hike passed the multiple river crossings and there are plenty of opportunities to swim in the swimming holes, which is perfect for a hot summer day. The trail leads us passed a lot of historic sections of visible roads and tunnels and the Bridge to Nowhere is a 120-foot high concrete bridge in the middle of the canyon. This bridge is also the only place in California where bungee jumping is actually allowed (on weekends). Bridge to Nowhere Info…
