CHRISTINE CARCHIA, CMP,
NAMED DIRECTOR OF SALES & CLIENT SERVICES
FOR THE PASADENA CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU
PASADENA, Calif. – Christine Carchia, CMP, has been appointed director of sales & client services for the Pasadena Convention & Visitors Bureau (Pasadena CVB). Carchia will bring more than 20 years of hospitality industry experience to the CVB when her tenure begins on September 20, 2010.
In her new position, Carchia will direct the Pasadena CVB’s efforts to bring meetings and conventions to the city. In addition to overseeing a sales and services staff, she will analyze the ever-evolving meetings market and work closely with Pasadena’s hotels. Carchia will also develop targeted sales strategies to market the Pasadena Convention Center to corporate groups and associations around the nation.
Carchia comes to the Pasadena CVB after heading her own tradeshow and event management company, c2 Tradeshow and Event Management, since 2009. Prior to that, she worked for PCBC/California Building Industry Association in Sacramento, CA, from 2006 – 2009. During her tenure, she first served as director of operations and then director of business development.
From 2004 – 2006, she was a senior national sales manager for the San Jose Convention & Visitors Bureau. From 1995 – 2004, she worked her way up the ranks of GES Exposition Services as an account executive in Hayward, CA, and then senior sales manager in Lorton, VA.

Carchia is a member of Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA). She is past president of the Northern California Chapter of PCMA and served on PCMA’s Chapter Leadership Council for two years. Furthering her industry expertise, she earned the prestigious designation of Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) from the Convention Industry Council.
