Pasadena, Calif., (March 3, 2008) –The Pasadena Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) will offer Pasadena Marathon weekend getaway packages for participants and spectators. They will be able to enjoy a weekend getaway to the city that includes hotel accommodations and attractions to some of Pasadena’s most prestigious museums and gardens. From the Pasadena CVB website (visitpasadena.com), visitors may book their hotel and add a museum, mansion or garden tour to complete their weekend.
The inaugural Pasadena Marathon, which will be held on March 22 and was rescheduled from last year, offers a variety of race-day options, including marathon, half marathon, bike tour, and 3-mile community run/walk. The Pasadena Marathon course will feature areas of interest throughout the city, including beautiful residential neighborhoods, vibrant commercial districts, and numerous cultural landmarks.
“We are excited that the Pasadena Marathon is here as it will showcase to visitors our extraordinary city,” said Lisa Hasenbalg, director of cultural tourism and marketing for the Pasadena CVB. “The course takes participants by our most famous and recognized icons, including the Rose Bowl, Colorado Boulevard, Norton Simon Museum, and some of Southern California’s greatest architecture. We are excited to offer exclusive getaway packages for this exciting spring week so visitors may discover what makes Pasadena so incredible.”
