  • Summer of Sound 2017

Muse/ique is a non-profit organization that produces pop-up orchestra concerts in unorthodox spaces. Their annual summer concert series entitled Summer of Sound consists of one show each month throughout the summer. Each summer season is given a theme, the 2017 season is themed Motown Miracle in tribute to the legendary record label from Detroit that helped mold American music in the 1960s. Concluding the summer concert series in August is Glow/Town.

    Glow/Town

Glow/Town will take place on  Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Caltech’s Beckman Mall. Glow/Town will have one of a kind performances that will honor Motown with the spirit of American jazz. Musical theater star Joshua Henry (Hamilton, Shuffle Along, and Porgy and Bess) and tap legend Savion Glover (Shuffle Along, Bring in Da Noise, Bring in Da Funk, Happy Feet) will join Muse/Ique’s Maestra Rachael Worby to present a night inspired by the 100th birthdays of American Legends Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie,  Lena Horne, Desi Arnaz, and Thelonious Monk.
