Elite Marching Bands
An intricate blend of music and movement will be performed during Drum Corps at the Rose Bowl Stadium. For those that love a good marching band and enjoy watching them perform in the Rose Parade, this event is for you. Corps at the Crest, the national drum and bugle corps performance competition, spotlights 1,100 youth from 12 drum and bugle corps. This show is part of the Drum Corps International (DCI) summer tour of 100 similar events across North America and is presented by Pacific Crest Youth Arts Organization and Lone Star Percussion.

The Academy Brass and Percussion Ensemble was approved as a DCI sanctioned unit and changed its name to the Academy Drum and Bugle Corps. They have won the gold medal in Division II competition and later joined the ranks of DCI’s World Class.
The Blue Devils founded in 1970 hold the record for the most Drum Corps International World Championships titles.
The Blue Knights originally founded as a parade corps has been a DCI World Championship finalist many times. They are the official drum line and brass ensemble for the NFL’s Denver Broncos.
Gold is primarily made up of students from around Southern California. The corps has performed at Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, and Universal Studios. They have been an Open Class Finalist every year since 2012.
Golden Empire represents the San Joaquin Valley. The drum corps took the field for the first time in 2014 as part of Drum Corps International’s Open Class.
Impulse has become instantly recognizable on the drum corps field with its baseball caps and bright yellow short-sleeved uniforms displaying the corps’ exclamation mark logo. They have been crowned the DCI Division III World Champion in 2006.
Incognito was founded in 2005 and expanded in 2007 adding a winter color guard. They performed throughout Southern California in 2008 and after a number of years off they returned to the Drum Corps International Tour in 2014.
The Mandarins have blended Asian traditions with drum corps and have been a DCI World Champion in its class eight times.
Pacific Crest earned a Semifinals berth in 2003. They truly represent the Southern California region with students from more than 70 cities and 100 high schools, colleges, and universities.
Phantom Regiment is a World Class competitive junior drum and bugle corps based in Rockford, Illinois.
Santa Clara Vanguard is one of the thirteen founding member corps of Drum Corps International and is a six time DCI World Champion.
The Watchmen prides itself on providing local students with opportunity to perform entertaining and innovative productions. They joined the ranks of Drum Corps International’s Open Class in 2014.
ROSE BOWL STADIUM
The historic stadium is home to the annual New Year’s celebration, the Tournament of Roses Rose Bowl Game. It is located ten miles northeast of Downtown Los Angeles, at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains.
