  • Designer Con 2015 is an annual art and design convention that was created to bring together artists, manufacturers, distributors, and retailers in the vinyl to collectible figures market.  The show has grown from a small meeting room to a large exhibition hall including 300 vendors, art and custom shows, live demonstrations, and more. Designer Con’s vendors offer urban, underground, pop art, custom shows, and live demonstrations.  The show happens every November at the Pasadena Convention Center for a fun weekend.

    The show is a fan fest, it’s about having fun and meeting your favorite artists, designers, and manufacturers — it incorporates everything from the world of design such as apparel, plush, printing, sculpture, designer toys, and art ranging from fine to urban.

    What to Expect

    At Designer Con 2015 you will find all your favorite artists and brands. With over 300 vendors and artists, art shows, show exclusive items, panels and presentations, and more.

    Hilton Pasadena is Designer Con 2015’s official hotel. Other hotels near the Pasadena Convention Center Sheraton PasadenaWestin PasadenaPasadena Inn, and Courtyard by Marriott Old Pasadena.

    Parking

    Parking is available at the Pasadena Convention Center‘s subterranean parking structure for $12, it is shared with the Sheraton and the entrance is located on Euclid Avenue between Green Street and Cordova Street.  There are parking lots in the area surrounding the convention center, including Paseo Colorado.     Metro Gold Line

    The Metro Gold Line is a light rail train system that runs from Downtown Los Angeles to Pasadena. There are two train station within walking distance, (1) Del Mar Station is three blocks away, it is about ten minutes to walk to to the Convention Center and there is a small hill. Memorial Park Station is four blocks away, it takes about eight minutes to walk to the Convention Center and there are no hills on this route. Cost is $1.75 per person each way, students k-12 pay $1 each way.

    About the Producers

    Ayleen Gaspar has collected toys for as long as she can remember.  She likes Ewoks, horror movie figures, and Batman. Ayleen recalls her addiction to classic 80s toy lines like He-Man, The Real Ghostbusters, G.I. Joe, TMNT, Cabbage Patch kids, and My Little Pony. Her obsession grew to Monster In My Pocket, McFarlane action figures, and designer vinyl.

    Ben Goretsky is an art aficionado and a toy producer, he owns 3DRetro and coordinates the annual toy and art convention, and he publishes Divulge, an L.A. lifestyle magazine.
