History of the Hotel
The Langham Huntington Pasadena opened in 1907 as the Hotel Wentworth — named after General Marshall C. Wentworth, a Civil War veteran who built it as his dream hotel. Railroad magnate Henry Huntington purchased the hotel in 1911 and redesigned several aspects of the property, the hotel reopened on January 8, 1914 as The Huntington Hotel. Throughout its history it served as home to California’s first Olympic sized swimming pool; headquarters for the U.S. Army’s 35th Division during WWII; and film location for Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3.
